This medication belongs to a class of drugs called antihistamines (specifically, a non-drowsy or less-drowsy generation compared to older antihistamines). It is used to treat and relieve allergy symptoms, such as: Seasonal or perennial allergies (triggered by dust, pollen, or pet dander). Sneezing, runny nose, itchy, and watery eyes. Skin allergies (hives or chronic urticaria). 2. Daily Dosage (How much to take?) To ensure an accurate dose, always use the measuring device (the syringe included inside the box) because 1 ml of the solution equals 0.5 mg of the medicine. The standard recommended dosages based on age are as follows: ? For Children: Infants and Children (6 months to 5 years old): This should only be given under direct medical supervision. The usual dose is 2.5 ml (1.25 mg) once daily (typically in the evening). Children (6 to 11 years old): The standard dose is 5 ml (2.5 mg) once daily in the evening. ? For Adults (and Adolescents 12 years and older): The standard dose is 10 ml (5 mg) once daily in the evening. ⚠️ Important Warnings & Instructions: Timing: It is best taken in the evening or before bedtime. Even though levocetirizine causes less drowsiness than older allergy medications, it can still cause sleepiness or fatigue in some individuals. Kidney Patients: If the patient has any kidney issues or impairment, the dose may need to be adjusted or lowered by a doctor.
