CHI Ionic Permanent Shine Ammonia-Free Cream Hair Dye 85g and Color Catalog | 6A - Dark Ash Blonde This is a professional cream hair dye. It lasts a long time. It does not contain ammonia. It does not contain paraphenylenediamine (PPD), a component believed to cause serious allergic problems in some users. It contains Monoethanolamine (MEA), a milder but more effective alkali. In ammonia-containing paints, the irregular gas formation when the paint is mixed with the oxidant makes the pH level of the mixture unstable. Unlike conventional dyes, when the MEA component is mixed with the oxidant, no gas is released, and the mixture is maintained at a consistent pH level. When peroxide releases oxygen, it turns into water, and the dye acts like a conditioning hair treatment. Even extra application time won't change or damage the tone or color.
